CSUR PRESENTS LNG “101” TO WAPITI AREA SYNERGY ASSOCIATION (GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALBERTA)

CSUR was pleased to be invited to give the Keynote Address to this year’s annual meeting of the Wapiti Area Synergy Association in Grande Prairie on February 11th. Dan Allan, the Society President & CEO presented to a full house of over 150 attendees. The presentation focused on the “Alberta LNG Narrative”, an initiative run by CSUR and supported by the Government of Alberta. The “LNG Narrative” is designed to create awareness of the new emerging LNG Industry in Canada and its implications to business throughout Alberta and Canada. The session provided an industry perspective on what exactly LNG is, how it will impact the natural gas industry, and what potential investment attraction, value and supply chain opportunities may exist for Alberta and the Grande Prairie area.

As the Canadian energy sector continues to transition to a lower carbon environment, LNG can provide a dependable, low cost and low carbon emission fuel that can power the global economy as we significantly reduce GHG emissions around the globe. In undertaking this transition Canada can emerge as a global leader in developing this resource and the associated technologies to the highest environmental standards.

“I was in attendance at the WASP meeting, thoroughly enjoyed your presentation. Very important work that your doing and also an inspiration for those of us working in the industry. If there is anything I can do to help at CSUR, please don’t hesitate to reach out.”

GRANDE PRAIRIE MEETING

The Grande Prairie Chamber of Commerce hosted CSUR President Dan Allan, Outreach Director Brad Hayes and CSUR Director / JWN CEO Bill Whitelaw on September 17th for their presentation of “LNG 101 – A Canadian Perspective”.

An enthusiastic and engaged audience representing government, media, operating companies and consulting and service companies shared in our overview of the Canadian LNG business.  We talked about Canadian natural gas supplies, LNG projects, and their importance in the rapidly-expanding global LNG marketplace.  The economic value chain within Canada, First Nations partnerships, and our high environmental and regulatory standards were important topics to help people in understanding the huge value of LNG to Canada – and the high regard that clean, ethically-sourced Canadian LNG has in the world marketplace.

Additional LNG 101 sessions will be coming up in Alberta and elsewhere in Canada over the coming months.

CSUR LNG INITIATIVE: Government of Alberta

CSUR President Dan Allan and Outreach Director Brad Hayes presented “LNG – A Canadian Narrative” to the Government of Alberta in Edmonton on July 30.  Almost 100 people attended, most of them policy staffers from the Ministries of Energy, Economic Development Trade and Tourism, Indigenous Relations, Environment and Parks, Justice, and the Associate Ministry of Natural Gas.  Staff from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) were present as well.  They were keen to see the first rollout of CSUR’s Canadian Narrative presentation, developed as part of our LNG Initiative funded by the Government of Alberta.

We had excellent feedback from the meeting, which will bolster our work as we take the presentation on the road around Alberta and to other Canadian communities.
