Cynthia is a senior meetings professional with over 20 years of meetings and events industry experience. She has worked and attended University in both Denmark and New Zealand. She graduated from Massey University, New Zealand with a graduate degree in Human Resources and holds a Bachelor degree in Psychology and Economics from Simon Fraser University, Canada. In addition, she holds two significant meetings industry designations – Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and Certification in Meetings Management (CMM).
During Cynthia’s career, she helped to open the Morris J Wosk Centre for Dialogue, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, BC. In addition to owning her own event management company, Cynthia was also the provincial event manager for the Certified General Accountants Association of Alberta as well as worked for Meetings + Events Calgary (MCC) where she developed and launched two departments for the city – Events Services as well as the Calgary Ambassador Program. Both departments currently support MCC in their successful bids to attract international conferences to the city of Calgary.
Cynthia has been an event industry leader and mentor. She was honoured to be named Meeting Professionals Industry (MPI’s) Greater Calgary Chapter’s 2010 Rising Star; 2011 President-Elect; 2012 President and the Mentor/Coach of the year; 2013 MPI International RISE Award recipient and speaker at the MPI World Education Congress; 2015 ECOS Local Hero and in 2017, Calgary Event Awards’ Best Industry Professional. She currently teaches part-time in the Mount Royal University Events Management program and holds the position of Membership + Events Manager for the Canadian Society for Unconventional Resources.

Al is a registered professional engineer (Alberta) with over 25 years of oil & gas industry experience. Al is a University of Calgary graduate (Bachelor of Science) and has worked on both the service sector side and on the exploration/production aspect of the industry.
Al’s technical expertise has been centred within the Reservoir Engineering field, with a primary focus in the areas of pressure transient analysis (PTA), diagnostic fracture injection testing (DFIT) and reservoir fluid phase behaviour studies (more commonly referred to as PVT studies – pressure-volume-temperature).
Al’s previous positions at Core Laboratories, Rapid Technology Corporation and ConocoPhillips Canada have allowed him to attain significant experience/expertise within a variety of plays, including the high-profile liquids-rich shale plays that are prevalent in the market today. He is considered to be an industry expert and mentor in the above-mentioned focus areas.
In his current role as Technical Coordinator with the Canadian Society for Unconventional Resources (CSUR), Al is supporting the organization’s efforts to plan, manage and execute their technical program for 2019.
